We took the Focus on the Family’s 7 Traits of Effective Parenting Assessment. We highly recommend this assessment because it identifies areas of opportunity and strengths as it relates to effective parent-child relationships. This assessment is a helpful tool intended to provide parents with the knowledge of self-awareness. The seven traits are bible-based and backed by research. Although there are only seven, they are extremly important to master. As moms, we will make mistakes! We must show ourselves grace in the process and ask God for his wisdom. He is there to help, to guide, and to reveal truths that may be hidden in our heart. The assessment results is a great place to start and begin praying about areas you feel you might need more attention. According to the Focus on the Family website, upon getting your result they offer to email two free e-books on parenting titled Quick Answers To Your Most Urgent Questions: First Aid For Families Vol I. Babies to Preteens, and Vol II. Teens and up.
